IWCP

Mission

It is the desire of the International Women’s Club of Philadelphia (IWCP) to welcome women of all cultures to the Philadelphia area and to encourage friendship, cooperation and understanding and to build new friendships. It is our goal to help them adjust to a new culture and to meet other women of similar backgrounds and interests.

General Information

History

The club was founded in 1989 by a group of women who experienced the challenges of life in a new land. They wanted to welcome women of all cultures and races to the Philadelphia area with the purpose to promote friendship, cooperation, and understanding among women and wanted to help newcomers to benefit from the knowledge of those who had successfully made the transition.

The IWCP is a non-profit social organization that is governed by a Board of Directors. It has no political or religious affiliations. IWCP is a proud member of Welcome Clubs International, www.wciclubs.org , through which we are linked to our sister organizations in the U.S. and around the world.

Using their many skills and talents, members are encouraged to volunteer by organizing and hosting events and activities. The board of IWCP would also like to persuade all our members to propose new ideas for events to boost broader participation.

Regular events are held in German, Italian, French and Spanish. We do however encourage events for other languages, as membership permits.
